NEWSPAPER

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/22/garden/22garden.html?ref=garden

The article that I chose was: “In the Spring Garden, Some Joys Just Won’t Wait”. It was written by Anne Raver, and said about him and his friend, Rock, with different joys in their garden.

Anne drew a beautiful picture of his life and his garden in the spring; I was really attracted, and imagined a lot while I was reading this article. I think now he is working in his garden, and enjoys in the song if bird, or wonderful flower smell. His life is so nice and peaceful. I agree with him that the spring time is pretty good for outside thing. It is so warm, beautiful, and colorful. We can do every thing that we love, and enjoy in our life.

He describes so many great things about his beautiful plants, his work in every day, and his plan. Those made me remember the time when I was in Vietnam, and I always help my grandfather every weekend with his big farm. He grew so many kind of plant, such as flower, fruit tree, and vegetable. I was very enjoyed when he let me grew some baby plants, and watered them. He was so kind, and he taught me how to make the tree grow up strongly, healthily, greenly, and freshly. I loved him so much. In my mind, he always appears with his lessons about growing up plant, and his fantastic farm.

WHAT HAS BEEN MY BEST MOMENT?

What has been my best moment? I have never ask myself this question. I wonder whether it was my 16th birthday when my parents made me feel really happy and surprised by celebrated a wonderful party for me, or when I graduated second school, and I still remember I was very excited…..But I think they are not. When I close my eyes and think about what is really my best moment, I see four happy and satisfied faces, they are my parents faces, my teacher, and me on the day when I was successful on the interview in order to study abroad.
First at all, I thought about my parents when the US consul said he gave me a chance to study in America. I can imagine how happy my mom and my dad felt. They just looked at me and laugh a lot. They said they proud of me. Because when my parents were young, they couldn’t get a good education, so they hope I can do this. They gave me so long hug, and that was so sweet, warm, and wonderful. I’ll never forget this moment.
Another person whom I thought about was my chemistry teacher. When I was in second school, I was shy, and lack confidence. But I met her, we hit it off and got along well. She taught not only chemistry but also the reasons in the life. She encouraged me a lot. She helped me more confidence and advised me to study in the US. I still remember her word : “ If you are unsuccessful in the first time just try the second time, the third time, again and again. You will be successful”. When I told my teacher that I get this advance for my study, she was very happy.
Beside that, I thought about my future. I can get a good education, great opportunity to learn how to stand and step on my own foot. My goal is becoming a pediatrician in the future, so I think studying in the US will give me a great chance to make my dream come true.
I think succeed in this interview is the best thing that I did.

If you have a chance to choose your hometown, where would you like to be born?

What do you think about that? If it happen, What will you choose? I think It's really a great chance because when I were young, I always hoped I were born in Holland. Holland is very beautiful and fabulous with a lot of flower, and nice weather. I have heard so many legend of Holland, and I pretty love them. In my imagination, this country is like a magic, very very interesting and exciting. But this is just my hope when I were young.
Today, I'm 17 years old that is old enough to recognize how drastic I love my city, my hometown, and my family. I were born in Dalat city where I have my past, present, and future. Every my memories are still kept in my mind. I don't concern whether they are good or terrible, but this is my life. Dalat is the place where I grown up, I love it by every things: the flowers, the weather, the local people. Dalat gave me so many chance to plant flower, tree, and so on with my family, to climb on the mountain, to play game with my friends, to make o lot of sweet memories. So I'm sure that if I have a chance to change my hometown, I won't do it. I'm happy with my life over there, I love Dalat and Dalat is the place where I will choose forever.

Something about me

Hello ! ^ - ^ ! This is Anna.I'm 17 years old. I'm learning English at Seattle Central Community College to improve my Engligh skills. I think English is really usefull languege which I can use in the future. It will help me to find a verry great job in a big international company and have a lot of friends who come from different countries. I love listening music, reading book and chatting with my friends. My bad hobby is that I go to the bed so late if someone calls me, or chats with me, althrough I know I will be very verry tired in the tomorrow morning. To describe myself, I choose some adjective that I'm honest, happy, alittle bit shy, and I aways enjoy in every thing that I do.
I live with a great vietnamese family. They are so pretty nice, helpful, and always willing to help me when I need the help, or I have some problems.I think they are my second family in the US. About 2 days ago, I got really terrible flu. I felf verry bad, alone, and missed my mom, my dad so much. They didn't only made me be better by give me some medicine, cooked soup for my but also tried a lot to talk with me, made me happy , and so on. I love my life in Seattle. Every things are so fabulous. ^ - ^
